Dear Loyal Lincolnites:
Ever make the Honor Roll? If not, here's your chance. And, if you did make it, here's a golden opportunity to do it again.
Your Alumni Association is now accepting donations to help pay for the Lincoln Address Monument we recently installed at the new Lincoln.
You'll recall that part of Abraham Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address was engraved on the front of the old building at the right of the main entrance. We did our best to save the old concrete panels containing the Address, but it just wasn't possible -- so, we have duplicated those immortal words and brought them back to life for all to see and to live by.
Appropriately, the new monument is placed to the right of the main entrance of the new building.
The monument helps commemorate our life at the old Lincoln and also celebrates the rebirth of that same Lincoln tradition in the new school. It is evident to us that the old Lincoln Spirit is alive and well at the new school -- just one visit there would provide all the evidence you need.
The new monument cost $10,000. To help pay for it, we have established a special memorial fund called "The Lincoln Memorial Honor Roll."
This Honor Roll is featured on a special page of our website, on our Alumni Association Facebook page, and in our Newsletter.
We hope you'll donate to this good cause. No amount is too small, and we’ll appreciate $1.00 or more. Your donation will be gratefully acknowledged as a contributor and supporter of a better education, in the name of our beloved former LHS, and to honor the present LHS.
Please make your checks or money orders payable to "ALHS Alumni Association" with a check memo note of "Memorial Fund" and send them to:
